The Hands of Justice are a non-profit organization that envisioned their future headquarters and expansion to provide accommodation for human-trafficking survivors. Moment Architects provided a transformative initiative, envisioning an Economic Empowerment Center designed to serve as a safe haven and educational hub. Comprising of two distinct buildings, the first building houses the administration and counseling center, while the second is dedicated to the living quarters of the survivors. The central concept aims at fostering a holistic recovery process, providing shelter, therapy, counseling, and a restorative environment for survivors to regain control over their lives and thrive in the future. At the heart of the design is an open courtyard, surrounded by various social areas, fostering a sense of freedom and control for the survivors. This intentional layout encourages gradual engagement with on-site staff, promoting a supportive environment that empowers survivors on their journey to reintegrate into society, free from the clutches of trafficking. The project stands as a beacon of hope, seeking to break the cycle and empower survivors toward a brighter future.

The Residence is a stunning embodiment of timeless charm and modern functionality. The exterior seamlessly integrates traditional farmstead elements, such as light stone and wood truss details, with sleek black metal accents for a touch of contemporary flair. Inside, the fusion of modern minimalism and farmhouse warmth is evident in the open spaces filled with abundant natural light. The central living area, featuring a cathedral ceiling with wooden beams, serves as the heart of the home, branching into wings that house bedrooms and private spaces. The design thoughtfully extends the exterior materials into the interior, creating a neutral backdrop that complements the natural surroundings. Timber Top Remodel
This contemporary home addition and renovation project in The Woodlands, Texas, is a stunning transformation that seamlessly blends modern design elements with natural materials. The exterior features a combination of wood veneers, black yakisugi wood siding, and white mortar wash, creating a harmonious contrast between the warmth of wood and the sleekness of black siding. This mix of materials not only enhances the aesthetics but also promotes durability and sustainability.
Inside, a daring and stylish approach was taken in spaces like the bathroom, where a bold pink color scheme has been employed. The use of pink, complemented by gold and patina accents, adds a sense of luxury and personality to the bathroom. This color palette creates a vibrant and eclectic ambiance that breaks away from traditional design norms, making the space both visually striking and inviting.
Overall, this contemporary home addition and renovation successfully blends a mix of materials for a stunning exterior, maximizes natural light through large windows and skylights, and introduces creative and unique design elements, to create a truly remarkable and modern living space.

Memorial Remodel
The Memorial Remodel project is an extensive redesign of an existing home in the Memorial area of Houston, Texas. The scope of the redesign includes expanding the existing Owner’s Suite to capture the space currently allocated to a guest bedroom, to give the Owner’s Suite more space to be truly amazing. We are also removing multiple load-bearing walls in the first floor living area to connect the living, dining, and kitchen spaces. On the second floor we proposed an addition that would allow for a second bathroom, larger bedrooms and closets, and a game room area.
Dorothea Lane Remodel
The Dorothea Lane Remodel is a series of proposed exterior improvements that can enhance the curb appeal of an existing home. The current façade is solid brick, with a combination of arched windows and color schemes that make the home… shall we say… unappealing. The homeowners asked for two remodel options, a “base” option that would require a minimal amount of time and money to complete, and a “deluxe” option that would include all the bells and whistles. When designing the options, we decided to offer a third alternative, which we call the “super deluxe”, which transforms the whole architectural style of the home. I wonder, can you guess which proposed option is which?
Feather Glen Remodel
The Feather Glen Remodel is located in Katy, Texas. The homeowners had a vision of wanting to update the entire home one space at a time, but didn’t know where to begin. They did not want to finance the construction, and therefore needed to break the entire project up into bite-size pieces. The challenge, therefore, was coordinating each small step along the way so that the home looks and feels like a cohesive space even in the midst of a long-term remodel project. Moment Architects provided a consultation with the homeowner to discuss the possibilities, and gave guidance on simple first steps, such as paint colors they could use to repaint the entire interior without limiting their material selections further down the road. Our direct involvement was not needed on all areas of the project, but where we did offer our design services was in the kitchen, master bathroom, and master closet.
